Dawn

How do you learn to trust again?

In a world slowly being consumed by desert, the balance keepers are mankind’s last hope of appeasing the anger of the gods. But Monroe has failed to do her part. Rejected by everyone around her and tormented by memories, she desperately tries to find the courage to end it all.

When another balance keeper appears and shows her kindness, it seems that, perhaps, there could be more to life than endless guilt and misery. But can Monroe risk trusting someone again, after everything in her past warns her not to?

Forgiveness refused to be found on the edge of sands and storms. All that dwelt here was punishment. The sun glared down on every sin from its throne on high, and the heat of the day did not cleanse.

It broke

"I'm fine."

The words slipped out of her mouth before she could stop them.

The WISH.

The LIE.

Have you ever had this conversation with someone else? Have you wanted to answer honestly but were afraid to? It takes a lot of courage to admit you are not okay. It takes a lot of care to notice if someone else is struggling.

If you feel like giving up, please remember the pain you feel now doesn't have to last forever. You are of infinite worth, lovingly created by God, and He is not done with your story. You don't have to suffer alone. Reaching out for help does not make you a burden; it is one of the bravest things you can do. Talk to a trusted loved one or friend, or reach out to a crisis hotline. Your future is worth seeing.

A bright smile and a brave face can hide a heavy heart. If you worry someone you know needs help, be willing to offer a listening ear, and get support for yourself and them from a crisis hotline. One conversation could be all it takes to get someone the help they desperately need.

One life lost to suicide is one life too many. Keep fighting, brave ones. We are waiting for another dawn.
